Customer Reviews

Western Kota 7" Titanium Bonded Fixed Blade Knife is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little carry blade Small/light enough to carry and forget, but hefty enough to do anything that any reasonable person would ask of a knife this size, and probably quite a few things that you shouldn't. It has a nice thick spine, and a pretty wickedly sharp edge. I had to smooth off a small burr on one side, but I fully expect that from almost every knife I get. Its got a jack of all trades blade shape, so while you may not want to grab it as your go to whittling knife, its got enough versatility to be able to do most things passably well. Its comfortable, and has the right mixture of heft, balance, and ease of manipulation. It really is one of the best EDC blades I've got. I don't think I would be stacking it against a 300$ knife or anything, but, I also would never carry one of those around all the time, so its really a moot point. Its cheap, its good, its reliable, and its comfortable. Get you one, you'll use it and like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good knife Pros: Nice one piece blade and handle. Excellent texture and material for handle. Nice thickness to backbone of blade. Comes with sheath included. Cons: Handle is on the small side. Blade needed a "touch up" to sharpness. Although sheath is included it is just "good enough".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missed my the chance to use to skin a deer. I wanted to use this knife for skinning, deer unfortunatly the deer did cooperate. I did use it around the fire pit, making a feather stick to start a fire. I have small hands so it fits perfect in my hand. The thumb rest along the spine is very nice feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid knife I have yet to use this knife for anything other than some minor things but it seems well made. It was very sharp out of the packaging and has held its edge thus far. It is a bit on the heavy side but because of that it seems it should stand up to some hard use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect length I have tried similar knives rangin in length from 5-9 inches. I would have to say 6-7 is the perfect range for a fixed blade if you intend on using it for hunting trips. It is titanium and thus high quality. The grip is above average.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My New Hunting Knife Don't let its size and price tag fool you. The Western Knives Kota fixed blade knife by Camillus is a toughie. It sports a robust titanium-bonded full-tang 3.25" drop point blade made with 420 stainless steel that is ideal for a range of purposes from hunting to survival. The black G10 handle, with is finger choil is a comfortable fit for the most hands. In addition, the angled spine jimping provides extra leverage when performing tough jobs. Like other fixed blade knives, the Kota comes with a lanyard hole at the butt, which is a very useful feature for firmer grip, securing the knife to your gear or a structure, or for use as a spear point in survival situations. However, the most immediate purpose that comes to mind is as a hunting knife. Aside from being lightweight, the shorter blade is ideal for field dressing and skinning big game and since it is a fixed blade, would be easier to maintain as there would be no joints or tight areas to clean and lubricate. Finally, the Kota comes with durable black nylon sheath with the Western Knives logo and "Kota" embroidered on it. Slip it on to your tactical belt, MOLLE rig, or hunting pack and you're good to go!This knife is a great all-around hunting and survival tool and a great value.
