The Camillus HEATER Boot/Neck Knife is 4.5" overall in length, achieving discretion without compromising physical fortitude. It features a 1.75" 440 Stainless Steel blade, striking a balance between hardness and corrosion resistance. On top of the base 440 material, the steel is bonded with Carbonitride Titanium. This offers second-to-none edge retention along with enhanced performance and durability under all conditions. By way of our proprietary process, a permanent molecular bond is created with the blade surface as well, so the robust Carbonitride Titanium treatment will stand the test of time and keep the blade up to 10x harder than untreated steel. Versatility is also an integral element of the HEATER, featuring an added finger hole, bottle opener, camo paracord loop, beaded chain, molded sheath with belt clip, and a Lifetime Warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Option for a Back-Up Knife! This knife is extremely versatile when it comes to a back-up knife. Personally, I mounted it in different places, including in my boot, my boot laces, the inside and out side of my waistband and belt, and with the included neck chain, with no issues. As a additional option, you could thread cordage through the holes in the sheath if you so choose for even more options. The Kydex sheath retains the knife in every angle securely and snugly, with no chance of it shaking loose. Furthermore, I have not observed any obvious signs of wear caused by the sheath. The blade has solid edge retention and over months of use has not needed any sharpening. It's a incredibly well made product and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handi Knife I've been wearing this knife for 2 weeks.Working in a warehouse it actually comes in handy. And of course it makes a great neck knife for self defense. It is a good quality knife ,made with good steel, the sheath works properly and the boot clip holds in place while drawing the knife. The only con I have for this product would be that the boot clip is not removable.Maybe I'll fix that problem with my dremel tool. Also if you have large hands you would find it difficult to hold. All in all its an awesome light weight self defense knife .And with a bottle opener too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Capable Minimalist I was expecting this knife to serve as a simple neck knife then I thought, "What if I was stuck with only the knife hanging from my neck? Would this knife get me through?" I was really surprised by the capabilities of this little blade. The Camillus Heater performed well in a couple of survival type tasks. It carved a makeshift tent stake and made tinder feathers. This is punishing on bare hands but the Heater definately did the job. Next I moved to the kitchen. I had planned to make tuna salad for lunch so why not use the Heater. The blade was tough enough to punch through the top of the tuna can. Yes, I have a can opener but that is way too easy. After that punishment it was still sharp enough to dice an onion. As a bonus, I bet it would be perfect as a defensive tool and as an every day carry box opener.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I received this Knife several weeks ago and found it very unique. I wore it around the neck and after having it there for a few minutes it was not a bother. I wore it for a week and a half and at times forgot it was there. I used it for cutting rope and making fire sticks for my scout troop and it worked wonderfully. I carried it in my boot for 3 days and decided I liked it around the neck better. All in all it is a very good tool for emergencies and self protection. It will not take the place of a full size knife but it is a good value for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Little Knife I've had this knife for a month or so and I like it a lot. It's my first neck knife but not my first Camillus. As I expected it lived up to the name. It's light and strong. Seems fairly sharp out of the box. I've used it mainly for every day tasks. Opening packages and such. It's easy to carry and you hardly notice you have it. Stays nice and out of the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the knife, don't trust the clip... I own a few of these and I bought one, my first one, a couple weeks ago. Maybe less... I used it for a few things, blade is razor sharp and it feels good in your hand but the clip is not very strong. I had it clipped on my boot of course and in less than a week it fell off somewhere and it's gone. No more knife, money wasted. The couple I have now will be worn around the neck. You can't move around at all and have that on your boot unless you want to lose it for some kid or something to find...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great dimension Being a large man (6'5"-240lbs) I was surprised that it fit in my hand. I can carve small notches and cut cords with no chance of it slipping out of my hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impression the the Camillus Neck/Boot knife First impression: The HEATER Model # 19238 Nice packaging / Lightweight Opening the package was the only difficult thing about this knife. Tested the sheaths retention strength and found that it held the “Heater” very securely while worn as a neck knife, a very positive snap when pushed in to the sheath. As a neck knife the sheath did not tangle or pull hair on my chest which would be bothersome for many. The “Heater” and sheath was no more bothersome than my old dog tags were. I would classify this knife in the range of “Shaker” furniture, very pleasing in a plain but very functional way. Although where worn no one would notice those features. I see this knife becoming... no has become part of my EDC. The sheath has a clip for the belt or boot. On the belt it would have to be a small belt, it was difficult to put onto my EDC belt, I would not use it there, others may find it useful. As a boot knife it depends on how you secure the sheath to your boots. The sheath did not seem secure in the boot to me with only the clip. I would put some extra holes in the sheath for some paracord to secure the sheath plus it never hurts to have some extra paracord handy. The “HEATER'' itself seems to be excellent quality knife. Only one edge of the point was sharpened, I would prefer both edges sharpened for the type of use it may be called upon for. A note about the belt clip. When worn as a neck knife the clip would work very well as a secure holder for some cash / ID / or credit card one or all three or whatever your personal needs may be. Instructions came with the “HEATER” that seemed to be all purpose instructions for all their knife lines but still very informative on how to sharpen the knife. Also on the care sheet, was the Camillus web site and a warranty notice. Camillus knives carry a “Lifetime” warranty. If you take care of this knife that warranty would never be needed.

Is this a double edge knife? It seems like in the photos ... but i read some reviews saying otherwise

We do not ship this item with both edges sharpened, as some states have restrictions that do not allow double edged knives/daggers.
