The Camillus Les Stroud SK Jungle Survival 18" Machete has a Carbonitride Titanium treated 440 Stainless Steel blade with a Rubber and Stainless Steel handle. 440 is a stainless steel with a terrific balance between hardness and corrosion resistance. 440 takes a nice edge and is fairly easy to resharpen. An excellent value-priced steel for its performance. Good toughness and stain resistance. Included is a Ballistic Nylon Sheath, Ballistic nylon is a thick, tough, synthetic nylon fabric that protects against debris and other foreign materials. It is commonly used for making sheaths. Carbonitride Titanium is one of the hardest surface treatments containing titanium. Harder than carbide. Harder than chrome. Our proprietary process creates a permanent molecular bond with the blade surface. Will not flake, blister, chip, or peel. A complex crystalline structure forms which protects the blade surface against wear, staining, and damage. Patent pending technology.

Customer Reviews

Camillus SK Jungle 18" Survival Machete is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good tool to own works great When treated wrong anything will break,, for all you idiots hammering on things like children. The handle could be stronger but absorbs a small amount of Impact. The blade is pretty strong but should obviously be inspected befo use for manufacturing defects, but when used properly this is an awesome tool, mine has taken a beating and is still I'm good shape. I wouldn't recommend hammering on the nice and thick back side of the blade like I did with a hammer but a small log works great. The only damage to my machete is a few barely noticeable dents on the back side from the hammer from splitting logs. Fire starter is a good add on too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good tool Not sure everyones problem there must be a few defective ones. Ive used it for extreme chopping and outdoor use and mine is fine and holds an edge well. Ive chopped through hard 5 & 6 inch logs ive chopped through thick ice 7 inches pr more ive cautiously used it as a step up a tree by hammering it into the trunk and using it as a step. I wouldn't recommend any of these things but i take risks im comfortable with. The tree step was because of a storm and i needed extra cover over our tents but probably wouldn't have done that otherwise, i felt i had to. If you know what your doing this tool is very good quality and very handy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One heck of a little chopping tool I own many Machetes of various name brands and I must say that this is one of the best I own. The weight forward design of the blade works great for chopping but, can become combersome with constant use. The grip is excellant and ergo. Over all this a very durrable machete that can be used for a large variety of situations. Put it in your tool box or on your belt or even in your bug out bag. Either way it is an asset to any tool collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knive love it I use this while hiking to clear branches/vines that are in my way. Had it over a year now and no issues. For those saying it is breaking!! This is NOT meant to CHOP down trees and tree limbs, get a hatchet or axe. I live my SK Jungle

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for cutting brush I really like this machette. It's got a great feel to it and is weighted enough for a good swing. You may want to sharpen it up a bit yourself before using it (depending on what your cutting)
