WATCH IT IN ACTION

The Camillus EDC3 6.75" Folding Knife is one of our most dependable everyday carry knives. Featuring a partially serrated, 3" AUS-8 stainless steel drop point blade and stainless steel handle, the knife has a respectable feeling of weight without being too bulky. The AUS-8 blade also offers an exceptional balance between toughness, edge sharpness, and corrosion resistance on its own. However, for added protection and longevity, the blade is bonded with Carbonitride Titanium that provides an added layer of resistance to rust and corrosion. Additionally, the bonding makes the blade up to 10x harder than untreated steel, affording superior edge retention across countless cuts. The EDC3 also incorporates dual thumbstuds for easy handling and blade deployment. Backed by our Lifetime Warranty as well, the EDC3 will take your everyday carry lifestyle to the next level.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High maintenance The blade and feel are great, but the screws that hold the handle together loosen themselves easily and then get lost when they fall out. I have 2 missing from mine. I have e-mailed the manufacturer asking where to get replacement screws and got ignored.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but.... This is a very very sturdy and EXTREMELY sharp knife for a very good price. The Teflon or steel (not sure witch) washers between the blade and handle give extreme sturdiness. But.... The retaining screws are double sided instead of 1 that is all the way through the handle. They come loose easier over time and can be harder to tighten. Also the serrations aren't even sharpened and are coated in black finish. Sharpening the serrations and not coating them would make this a great knife. Making the handle screws a single through and through screw would make this a perfect knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Knife I got mine at Bass Pro and paid much less for it. After owning and losing several other knives of this type, this one is smoother, easier to open, and it stays sharp very well. I like the way it looks and the grip is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and versatile I was amazed at how light weight and well balanced this knife is. It's small enough to easily fit in my pocket and the integrated clip makes sure it stays where I put it. The profile (when closed) is perfect for me - I can hardly notice it's there but know it will be when I need to use it. The blade itself is both sharp and strong - the serrated portion is large enough to be useful, but not so large that it gets in the way. Overall this is one of the best folding knives I've ever used - I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable The only reason I bought this knife is because I goofed up and lost my previous one in my yard somewhere. Have been using Camillus knives for many years now, the blades are sharp, maintain an edge, and last a long time (assuming you don't loose them!) Overall a great general purpose knife to have around in your pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek And Strong The EDC3 has a great feel in your hand, and with the lock built into the handle it gives you more control over the knife. The blade is very sharp and strong, and unlike some knife there is no movement of any of the parts. I would really recommend this product to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New EDC I received this knife last week so I really haven't really put it through it's paces yet, but it has breezed through the tasks that I have given it so far, including using it to score and cut holes in sheet rock. Normally I wouldn't use my pocket knife to do that but I needed to test this knife and my friend couldn't find his razor knife. It is a lightweight but very sturdy knife with an excellent edge that held up very well even after several pieces of sheet rock. It also has a very slim profile and opens very easily using the thumb stud. I usually like the assisted open knives and own a few of them (including the one this one replaced as my EDC), which is the only thing that I would change, although that would affect the size and weight of the knife and I really like it the way it is, plus, like I said, it opens fast and easy with the thumb stud anyway, so I guess that I really wouldn't change it at all. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone, especially at the price that they are selling it at, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great everyday knife... Great everyday pocket knife. Very sturdy and smooth operating knife for the price. I can't think of a better knife in this price range. Holds an edge very well (my opinion) which I sharpen less than my other knifes, yet use it the most.

Questions

2 of the 3 screws attaching the belt clip have come loose and are missing, are replacement screws available to purchase?  This knife is very important to me, my youngest son purchased this knife for me to carry during my recent deployment.

My Camillus knife looks identical to the EDC3, except for the blade. The blade has no serration - it's edge is smooth for the entire length. Is this a different model? I purchased it at Walmart over a year ago.

Asked by: virtualjr
The version of this knife without the serration is a Walmart specific product. Here is the link to that knife. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camillus-EDC3-Carbonitride-Titanium-Folding-Knife/54738035

To release the blade, press the locking mechanism perpendicular to the blade and with another hand close the blade. Please see the below for a visual guide: https://www.knivesplus.com/faqlinerlock.html

I have two questions about my EDC3. Great knife, great price. 1. What is the RC of the AUS-8 you use *prior to* adding the Carbonitride coating? 2. How does adding the Carbonride coating give you a product that is different from case hardening?

Asked by: JToy3746
When the AUS-8 steel is put through the process of carbonitriding, we find that it add 10x hardness to the blade. This is a good article explaining the process. Technically “Carbonitriding” is type of case hardening. https://www.paulo.com/case-hardening-basics-nitrocarburizing-vs-carbonitriding/
