Rated 5 out of 5 by Staticjm from Great Knife! Love this knife. It's a great camping/hunting and all around knife. I have used it at home for breaking down cardboard boxes and various other things. I have also used it to baton firewood at a camp site and feather wood for kindling as well as various other things in the camp. Preparing food...etc. The blade is a good size and stays sharp. The rubber handle has good traction and is comfortable in hand. It has a full tang and seems very sturdy. The sheath is nylon with a snap to secure the knife. It also has a plastic insert to keep you from cutting through the sheath or from pushing the knife through it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Janep from nice and stout! was looking for something small and compact to carry everyday and everywhere. This knife fits the bill perfect. There are a lot of good knives out there, but a good sheath can make or break a quality knife. The versatility of the sheath make this a good option (being that I am a lefty). The knife itself fits a small to medium hand and is good for small chores but to small for anything major. Hopefully soon there will be a decent review on this knife because it needs one. One thing I did notice is that there is no lanyard tube through the knife. Its just a drilled out hole cut through the micarta and tang. I do not foresee this to be a problem, but it is minor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Theron from Nice purchase The first thing that impressed me about this blade was the thickness and the weight. We all know that when it comes to hacking you want the weight of the tool to do the work for you. The Carn X is not too heavy and not too light. It does the job just fine. The handle on the other hand was kinda disappointing...when I was in the store looking at it I almost passed it up due to the bonded plastic handle but bought it do to the reason I gave above... Great little piece of gear to have in any situation...I made the right decision buying this product By the way, who would hack at tempered glass with an item like this???

Rated 4 out of 5 by tommycanuck from Solid machete Used the Carnivore X recently to strip branches from a fallen tree and clear some woody brush. Both the primary blade and the saw blade worked effectively on branches and stems up to 2 inches in diameter, with no visible or tangible blade edge deformation after use. Nice heft to it but weight is nonetheless well-distributed, making the Carnivore X easy to swing. The handle felt a little slippery with use despite the textured material, even when used while wearing rubber-palmed work gloves. Remedied the handle issue with some hockey tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CordoG84 from Absolute Beast of a knife!!! I bought the Heathen a couple months ago and I'm overly impressed by the quality of it. It has a nice thickness at 1/8 inch with a well balanced weight. I love the nice powder coating and the micrata handle scales and shape serve for an excellent grip, even while wet. I really like that Camillus made it in the USA and from none other than 1095 (to me, the best all around knife steel.) The knife was razor sharp out of the box, and that beefy tanto blade is a prefect choice to give a strong blade such tough tip.The sheath is of high quailty, as it's made of a thick kydex (better than leather for a high carbon steel. No fats in material to harm the steel.) I really love seeing knives with the Camillus name being made in the USA again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cpap from Nice machete I am on my second machete, the 1st one developed serious blade damage. Camillus replaced it no questions asked. This is why I gave it a 4. I bought a cheaper machete at lowes while waiting for my Camillus to be replaced and hated it. The Camillus is so much better in every way. My only complaint is the stupid camo hand grip. I have used this tool a lot cutting trails and I don't like using the sheath and have temporarily lost the darn thing several times sticking it in the ground. I try to keep marking tape tied on it so I can see it but the tape comes off pretty easy. I have yet to see value in the serrated edge or the wire cutter but I'm not surviving with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Meng the Merciless from BEAST!!! The Cuda is the best bang for the buck folding knife. I've used it from animal dressing, cutting cardboard, and for cutting 1" diameter tree branches. I've abused this thing, but is still as good as the first day I got it. One thing that Camillus does right, that isn't shown in the picture and that most other manufacturers does wrong, is the extremely low-profile of the clip. I wear mine a lot in my pants pocket, and only about 1/4" is exposed. The only one gripe I do have is on the liner lock. There is a very small spot, about 1 mm in diameter, started to rust after my first wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spanaird from Handi Knife I've been wearing this knife for 2 weeks.Working in a warehouse it actually comes in handy. And of course it makes a great neck knife for self defense. It is a good quality knife ,made with good steel, the sheath works properly and the boot clip holds in place while drawing the knife. The only con I have for this product would be that the boot clip is not removable.Maybe I'll fix that problem with my dremel tool. Also if you have large hands you would find it difficult to hold. All in all its an awesome light weight self defense knife .And with a bottle opener too.
